The Backstory

Studio131 is an independent gym based in Digbeth, Birmingham that is built around using creative routines to keep going to the gym fun. They offer a range of classes and services and wanted Bowler Hat to create a website that boldly carries across the brand’s identity and allows users to book online.

The Background

The studio had quite a strong social media presence but didn’t previously have a website. They were receiving a lot of feedback from customers who were looking to book sessions online. Therefore the site was to be integrated with booking system that was easy for customers to use as well as easy for the studio to track, respond and edit bookings using.

  • Allow users to easily view the studio’s availability and book sessions.
  • Generate more conversions.
  • Encourage more Reviews.
  • Push the Brand’s Identity as a “studio” rather than a gym.

We Delivered

For it provided a quick and easy way for the client to manage and respond to bookings as they received them. We also added in a PayPal Plugin, which the studio could direct customers to in order to pay for classes online.

One of the core requirements was to push the brand’s identity as a “creative Studio” and to differentiate it from standard gyms. In order to achieve this, we sourced stock imagery and heavily manipulated the images that we were provided. Boldly applying the studio’s branding and focusing the imagery on sole human forms rather than using busy images of people using machines like is typically seen on gym websites.

The final goal was to encourage conversions which we accomplished through cleverly working calls to actions into the site to direct user’s to leave reviews and get in touch.
